Refund policy

Kottage Kupboards' refund and returns policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since the buyers purchase, we can not offer the purchaser a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Kottage Kupboard, LLC. will work hard in helping the customer find a satisfactory solution whenever possible. 

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

Additional non-returnable items:

  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable software products
  • Some health and personal care items

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to Kottage Kupboard without first contacting Kottage Kupboard. Their are certain things the buyer has to do in order to receive a full refund including shipping costs. If these steps are not followed Kottage Kupboard is not able to issue a full refund of goods or services to buyer.

USPS Filing a claim

Some Key things to be aware of when dealing with USPS are as follows:

Who can file a domestic claim with USPS?

Either the person sending the mailpiece (Mailer) or the person receiving the mailpiece (Recipient) may file a claim for a damaged or missing article.

Note: If the Mailer files an insurance claim for a damaged article still in the possession of the addressee, the addressee is required to retain the damaged article and container (including packaging, wrapping, and any other contents received) until the claim is fully resolved. Upon written request by the Postal Service™, the addressee must turn the materials over to a Post Office™ for inspection, retention, and disposition in accordance with the claim’s decision. 

When to file a claim with USPS.

File claims as follows:

  1. Damaged or Missing Contents: customers should file a claim immediately but must file no later than 60 days from the date of mailing.
  2. Lost Articles: customers must file a claim within the time limits in the chart below.

Note: A decision regarding your claim is usually communicated within 5-10 days.

NOTE: The above information is taken directly from USPS website. Kottage Kupboard has no control over wither or not shipping will be refunded. The buyer has to do their due diligence to work with the seller so the shipping is hopefully refunded to the buyer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:

  • Final Sale items
  • Items that are hand poured but Buyer can not send a photo of the Kottage Kupboard stamp on product.
  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to Kottage Kupboards error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

All Photos Required

During the photo documentation process, seven different photos will be requested:

• A photo showing the damaged item and how it was packaged inside the box
• A photo of the damaged item
• A photo of the packaging material used
• A close-up photo of the shipping label with tracking number (generally starts with 1Z)
• A close-up photo of the box manufacturer’s certificate (round stamp on outside of box)
• Two photos showing all six sides of the package (one showing top and two sides, another showing bottom and opposite sides)

Dimensions of the box, including the package height, length and width will also be needed.

File Formats Accepted

The claims application supports the following file formats:

• .JPG
• .JPEG
• .TIF
• .TIFF
• .BMP
• .PDF
• .DOCX
• .PNG

Processing a Return. What to expect.

Once your return is received and inspected, Kottage Kupboard will send the buyer a email to notify the buyer that Kottage Kupboard has received the sellers returned item. Kottage Kupboard will also notify the buyer of the approval or rejection of the buyers refund.

If the buyer is approved, then the buyers refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to the buyers credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Haven’t Seen a Refund yet?

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale Items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded. If item is damaged in the shipping process. Please make sure to contact Kottage Kupboard immediately so Kottage Kupboard can work with the Buyer to get the issue resolved in a timely and professional manner.

Replaceable Items

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same or like item, send us an email at info@kottagekupboard.com once approved, the defective or damaged item should be sent back to:

Gifted Items

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

Shipping Returns

After getting a confirmation email from Kottage Kupboard to return a product, buyer should mail product to:

Buyer will be responsible for paying for buyers own shipping costs for returning buyers item if buyer did not contact Kottage Kupboard first before returning item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If buyer receives a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from buyers refund.

Depending on where the products were shipped, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach the destination may vary.

If buyers are returning more expensive items, buyers may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. Kottage Kupboard does not guarantee that Kottage Kupboard will receive buyers returned item.
